It is with regret that I leave this review as I love this cafe and really don’t want anyone else to know! The cakes are the best in Sidmouth, the staff are super friendly and it’s extremely dog friendly. My only criticism is that they close on a Tuesday which led to a nasty experience at Selley’s cafe in town! Truly the best cream tea in Sidmouth as well as lovely lunches.
Dietary restrictions: Because they make all the food they know exactly what’s in it, which makes a change.

Food and coffee is fantastic here , lovely service and beautiful setting, what more could you want. Dog friendly to, treats provided for all of them. Their cake range is something else. We had granary chicken salad sandwiches , which were freshly prepared and best we've had in long time, highly recommend, make the trip you won't be disappointed. Also do well organised takeout service.

Such a wonderful lunch here today. As a gluten free vegan, it’s often difficult to find places to eat. There were so many choices! I had a lovely carrot and coconut soup with gluten free bread. My daughter opted for a coronation chickpea sandwich which she really enjoyed and my son had a cheese and pickle sandwich which he ranked as the best sandwich he’s ever had!! Beautiful setting also- we sat upstairs and had a wonderful view of the beach- just perfect! Also loved and appreciated the ethos of providing good quality, healthy food- a lot of which is baked and made on the premises. Highly recommended. 5⭐️
Dietary restrictions: Good choice of vegetarian, gf and vegan options.

Absolutely stunning, best cafe I've been for some time. Location and views in the garden were exquisite. Coffee and rock buns to die for. Service very quick and friendly.

Absolutely lovely place to go and relax in the Sidmouth clock tower tea rooms,
Very welcoming and delicious food and beverages,
Stunning views and if possible try and get a table up in the tower,no lift I'm afraid,
We walked around the whole gardens and looked out over the cliff walls and visited Jacobs ladder, not for me as heights is a no no lol,
Even the lovely old steps built into the rock/cliff side is not for the faint hearted,
Clock tower tea rooms is a must place to go if in the Sidmouth area,
Enjoy like we did

Lovely cream tea with a freshly made fruit scone, which was nice and fluffy. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Perfect for a bite to eat on a hot day by the sea.

Good Coffee and cake. Dogs allowed in the beautiful outdoor seating. Friendly staff.
Clean toilets. Confusing queueing mechanism.
We ordered a second round of cold coffee.I consider £ 10,- very expensive for 2 premade coffee in a package. Especially when one came out of non cold storage. Otherwise it would be 4 🌟. Their fresh made coffee is cheaper. Update changed to 4 star. Still think better information to customers would be nice
Edits: made clear that the 10 GBP was for 2 coffee after a mail by the owner.
To clarify our point, 5 GBP for one simple cold coffee is expensive. I initially thought it was something different. It is a brand that is maybe only sold in the UK . I have not seen it in France, Belgium, Germany or the Netherlands. I expect that price level, for a good flat white because that takes extra work. The guy after the counter should not have tried selling me an uncooled package d drink or at least have asked. This review is not harsh but factual.
5 star for good location, cakes and home made iced coffee. However..
-1 for overpriced packaged coffee
-1 for selling 1 uncooled packaged coffee
-1 for the banquette, that excellent stilton cheese really deserves better bread
2 star remaining.

What a fantastic choice of cakes! Only had chance to try a piece of the Victoria Sandwich but it was so delicious and massive, but enough to begrudgingly share!
Snacks, sandwiches and coffees etc are also available and you can either sit inside upstairs (no lift) or outside in the gorgeous Connaught Gardens.
They give a 10% discount if you take your own cup.

Fantastic venue with spectacular cliff sea views and a beautiful outdoor seating area. I visited in May with friends for afternoon tea. Wonderful selection of delicious-looking cakes (at least 14 varieties) as well as scones, all made on-site. Cake servings are very large - I couldn't finish mine! Contactless payment available.
