Beautiful pub with friendly, efficient service. Fabulous lunch...highly recommend the fish pie & burger, delicious & reasonably priced. Dog friendly too. We will definitely return!

Friendly inn in a cute small village. The rooms are basic but clean. The shower is quite small and weak, it ran out of hot water quite quickly. Breakfast was a generous full fry up, but removing a star because we were disappointed with the quality of some of ingredients (eg cheap sausages). No parking but there’s the village hall car park a 5 min walk away.

Check in was great. Nice to walk into a pretty village pub and know you have a room upstairs!
Loved this place. My room was light and spotless. The ceiling was very low in my room. I'm slightly hobbit height and have hairy toes but because of that, there was no shower mount. I meant the height problem, not the hairy toe thing. There is a shower spray on the vintage looking mixer tap and the bath is nice and deep.
A nice flat screen TV occupied a corner of the large window that overlooked the Secret Garden.
Had a great stay and thoroughly enjoyed myself with the locals and bar staff.
Why 4*? Well, I knocked off half a star for the height problem of ceiling / shower.
The other ½* being the location. Tbh, it's in a great place just a few minutes drive to some other wonderful places. But it wasn't ideal if walking. There are narrow roads with very little, if any footpath and traffic can be often.
So my advice would be to drink in The Red Lion Hotel.

Well worth a visit for either just a beer/curry or better still stay a night or two and feel the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of this village pub. These landlords of The Red Lion , Richard and Bid , really enjoy looking after their customers . Recommend Church View room with comfy bed.

Fantastic food, especially the curries. Very welcoming.
We were only there to eat on Friday and Saturday evenings, but after a day of motorbiking it was a welcome experience. Jon and Marc that were staying at Sweetcombe.

Lovely little pub, only sorry I left it to the last day of my visiting (looking after three dogs). Lovely lamb patak curry & rice. Glass of Chilean white wine. Will definitely introduce it to my husband when hopefully we come back to visit. Well done red lion Inn

The Red Lion is set in the lovely village of Sidbury opposite the village church. The only downside is the on street parking which there is little of, but there is a small free car park just round the corner from the pub.
It is a lovely little village pub that servers good food and a friendly atmosphere.
The rooms were clean and tidy offering all the facilities you need for a short stay. Just what we needed for a weekend.

The top room was a bit claustrophobic for me. .could not take a proper shower as the ceiling is very very low, also, they should have a blind curtain for the bedroom window...great ambiance in the local pub (ground floor) and the owner lady is a gem.

Bar man Richard makes this place! Fantastic service and very personable. Only for the week but came here often ans felt very welcomed and taken care of. If you want food I'd recommend any one of the curries. Everything else looked lovely too but I tried 3 different curries and they were all lovely. Good value local pub and even if you aren't staying here you should visit whilst passing
