We were really lucky to get a refurbished room. The room was so clean and nicely finished. The service from all staff was very friendly and professional. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Our 2nd visit to Mount Pleasant. As before the food was delicious and is good value. Do choose the evening meal option. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Our only issue is breakfast could do with being somewhat earlier for us early risers. An excellent hotel.

In these days of the ‘New Normal’ when customer service standards seem about ready to go hang and everybody has to cut their cloth accordingly, it so reassures one to know that The Mount Pleasant Hotel keeps to its recommendable high standards. I have following professionally-recommended medical diets over the past few months. Accordingly I asked the hotel could be accommodate my particular needs. They acceded to my wishes within minutes. My symptoms subsided, I once again have enjoyed a relaxing restorative and elevated stay! Cameron particularly has supported my stay throughout he has been particularly responsive and attentive, handling my dietary requirements with tact and aplomb. Also singling out for praise Harriet, Agnieska and Madison for their polite, friendly and efficiently warm standards of care. Especial praise to the chef, whose Brandied Peach Fan improves with every successive day! The food is unbelievable! The Spring Vegetable Soup that Cameron recommended me was weighty without being cloying and the Duck flesh fell succulently off the bone to the tang of the lemon jus. ⅔ of the meals are GF (Gluten-Free) anyway, DF (Dairy-Free) on request. Wonderful service. Marvellously filling breakfasts. Consistency and novelty in equal measure. This as last year. I've been so lucky to have had a comfortable room. This bed on which I have slept soundly aside from my own imported health issues, every single night. Despite these straightened times, you can see why The Mount Pleasant Hotel is full. Exquisite. Excellent. Extraordinary! Rooms: I've been so lucky to have had a comfortable single room (top floor). This bed an improvement on last year’s, which on reflection I realise was a bit saggy and uncomfortable. This I have slept soundly aside from my own imported health issues, every single night. And as previously encountered, no sloping ceilings. (Some of the roof-level twins have sloping ceilings, you may want to be aware if you are at all awkward during the night or arising.) This presented no problem otherwise.

Spent 5 days here a fortnight ago, would recommend it to anyone, the food was delicious, the staff were delightful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The beach and town were close by, and the shops were a delight and we visited "The Dairy Shop" at lunchtime for a sneaky homemade scones with jam and cornish cream, also the staff were charming and helpful. Can't wait to go to both again. Thank you Jonty for the lovely break..

7 night stay. I felt welcome at this beautiful hotel from the minute I stepped inside. Staff were friendly, helpful, courteous and professional, nothing was too much trouble. Room and en suite bathroom were spotless, bed linen and towels were clean and fresh and the bed was extremely comfortable. Food was delicious; different menu every evening with a good choice of starters, mains and desserts. Excellent breakfast to set you up for the day. I look forward to staying here again.

Smallish rooms but well appointed and big enough. Bottles of water and hot drink facilities in the rooms topped up daily. We only stayed 4 nights B & B but the breakfast menu is excellent. A very good location for both Sidmouth and buses to the nearby towns. Helpful, attentive staff. The Patio and garden are good for sitting outside on fine days.
